Precisely. It is naturally a lot better in the film. I just posted them there because I liked it so much seeing it.

Ledger's delivery of this stuff, is simply fantastic.

I loved both of these stories he brought up about his scars.

And I doubt theres much truth in either. But that's just my own personal interpretation.

Yeah, I'm not seeing much, well really none at all, dismissing this as simply another Batman movie in a line of Batman movies. It's clear this one is getting exceptionally high praise, and much adoration as well.

For some reason, I believe Schumacher's Batman 5 would have turned out alot better than B&R. Even if B&R was more welcomed than it actually came to be at the box office, I would certainly like to think Joel and company would have had the sense to say, "Ok, this direction worked. But it's time to guide this franchise back towards it's roots".

Plus, just seeing Jack reprising The Joker would have made the film a instant "Must See" with me.  ;D

The hype for TDK does indeed seem to be picking up more and more steam the closer we get to the release date, but so far I'm not getting that level of hype Burton's Batman 1989 recieved back in the summer of 1989.

Personally, I think the only superhero film that is even close in terms of Hype and anticipation since, would be Spider-Man. We'll see how this plays out. I'm glad to see TDK being so anticipated by a good number of people this summer, but I cant say I'm expecting that same kinda level of hype Batman 1989 recieved.

The fact that it's almost been 20 years since the Joker has appeared in a live action Batman movie does indeed make me more excited about this film than I otherwise might have been. Plus Ledger's performance looks to be spectacular.

Misc. Burton / Re: What was missing?

I like Pat Hingle alright, but I believe he was a bit miscast in the role of Gordon. But yes, I would have loved to have seen more of a relationship between him and Batman in the Burton films. As it seemed very casual at best in both final products.

Seeing Robin in a Burton film may have been interesting as well.

Also, I would have loved to seen the scene where Joker's goons take out Gotham's top tier gangsters which was in one of Hamm's first drafts.

I really want to watch Brokeback Mountain, but something inside me won't let me.  Immature I know - cause I know it would be good since I am an Ang Lee fan.

I admit, I made jokes about the film like everyone else too. But I do highly recommend it, raleagh. If just for Heath Ledger's performance if anything else. It is indeed awesome. And I can easily see why Nolan chose to go after an actor like Ledger following that movie.  8)
