At this time a home video release of the 1966 Adam West TV series is without doubt the most anticipated Batman-related event we can think of!
So it was a little unconventional that chat-show host Conan O'Brien would be the first to confirm it - but that's what happened.
Today he posted on twitter, a photo of himself with the 66 Batmobile and the words "Very excited @WBHomeEnt is releasing the Batman '66 Complete TV Series in 2014! The seat smells like Adam West":

The ramblings of a madman? - not likely...as WB Home Entertainment retorted "We've always wondered why you never see @ConanOBrien & #Batman in the same room..."
It's not the first time we have had an announcement of a home release for the series. Back in Feb 2011 during a Dolby webcast with Adam West a notice said "The 1966 Batman series will be released for the first time ever this year". Obviously that didn't happen..but hopefully this time it will.
UPDATED: Wed, 15th January 2014
Bat-film producer Michael Uslan has just posted that he is involved with the home release of the show:
FURTHER UPDATE:
13th Dimension have just spoken with Robin actor Burt Ward - you can see what he had to say on their site. He did mention that commentaries haven't been recorded yet. Still a bit of work to go then it seems.
