David Ayer uploaded these two new photos on his Instagram stories.

QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Mikey Sutton is now claiming the Ayer cut will be announced at this year's DC FanDome. He reckons Suicide Squad's future as a movie franchise is in serious doubt because the reboot is a box office flop, despite getting good reviews. The Ayer cut is apparently not only the franchise's last role of the dice, but it leaves WB no choice because they need more content to hype up in order to compete with Disney Plus Day, which is expected to make huge announcements.

He's now backing off from his prediction it will be announced at DC FanDome. He reckons the troublemaking Warner execs are trying to resist it, but he's still more than confident it will be coming out next year.

Here is another new image from the Arkham Asylum raid that was drastically cut. This was another photo shared on Ayer's Instagram Stories.

Meanwhile, Will Smith took the opportunity to express his eagerness to play Deadshot again during this publicity stunt for GQ.

I'd like to think that could be fuel to the fire for bringing Ayer back. Or completing his cut of SS, at least. Because even now, Will Smith is still one of the more bankable names in Hollywood. If he accepts a movie role, that movie will most probably get made. So, for him to be out there talking about your movie/character and his eagerness to come back... well, in a sane and just universe, that would start some conversations among the right people.

But in this timeline... ugh...

The DCEU is what it is now. But releasing this cut would bring a sense of peace, especially when I consider Leto's Joker to be one the biggest victims in recent Batman history. ZSJL shows the potential he had, with his encounter with Batfleck being one of the best between the two characters I've seen. On paper the dialogue is spot on and delivered effectively. I hope this isn't a case of Sutton moving the goalposts to explain previous predictions.

I remember the rumours of Smith getting his own Deadshot project shortly after SS came out, and Joe Manganiello earlier this year said  his Deathstroke and Smith's Deadshot could've faced off in a potential sequel. Projects in Hollywood get scrapped all the time, but the way the DCEU unraveled by nasty, egotistical and far less talented people (some who are STILL there, mind you) is something I'll never forget.

Let's see if anything happens surrounding the Ayer cut in the new year.

And here are some Instagram images from David Ayer's account, including screen test pictures of Leto in costume and make-up.

I'm convinced it's only a matter of when they'll release the Ayer cut, at this point. To think this cut is having to wait twice as long as the release of the Snyder cut.

David Ayer continues to keep the discussion going for all things Suicide Squad, this time he's showing off some concept art.

Here is some of Harley Quinn.

Underneath here is concept art of Incubus, which Ayer laments he wished he could've used this character design.

I've heard of rumours of that the Ayer cut was already completed before the reshoots had started, and wouldn't need further polishing like ZSJL did. But I hope AT&T will give Ayer the same courtesy as they did to Snyder and give him a bit more money to tweak things to suit his liking. If Zack was allowed to restore the original Steppenwolf design then I think it's fair for David to alter Incubus as he wishes.

On Instagram, Ayer uploaded this Joker costume and make-up test.

Jared Leto was asked by a Variety reporter if the Ayer cut should come out.

It's unsurprising he endorses it, and it makes Ann Sarnoff worse for stating the studio have no intention to release it.

I'm confident it's coming out next year.
