Here's the trailer for Chapter 1 of the new animated adaptation of Watchmen. The script has been penned by Babylon 5 creator and veteran comic writer J. Michael Straczynski, and the director is Brandon Vietti, who previously directed Batman: Under the Red hood (2010). The voice cast includes genre veterans Troy Baker, Katee Sackhoff, Adrienne Barbeau, Jeffrey Combs, Corey Burton, Kelly Hu and Dwight Schultz.

Chapter 1 is being released digitally on August 13th and on DVD/Blu-ray on August 27th. Chapter 2 is scheduled for release later this year.

Seems interesting. I'll give it a look when it hits streaming.

I'll eventually check this out. Overall I like Snyder's movie and this has the potential to be a nice companion piece - even more faithful to the material and in animated form. For a while I've been interested in diving even more into content like Sandman and V For Vendetta. I love the themes and how morally grey things can be presented. But Watchmen would still be at the top of the tree for me. My appreciation only grows.

Might be alright.

I remember the Watchmen animated motion comic dvd/blu ray that was released back when the Snyder film was released, and to which was pretty damn faithful to the original source material. I guess the attraction with this, is at least, a more fluid animation style...
