screentime by character in minutes/percentage of the 2:39:48 runtime on film (number of scenes in brackets)

John Blake 54.4/34%
James Gordon 49.1 minutes/30.7%
Bane 47.6min/29.8%
Bruce Wayne 45/ 28.1%
Tate 34.7/21.7%
Batman 25.1/15.7%
Selina Kyle 22.8 mins/14.3%
Lucious Fox 22.3/ 13.9%
Alfred Pennyworth 17m/10.6%
Catwoman 15.6/9.75%

Batman's screentime in both BR and TDKR is around twenty minutes, right? The only difference is TDKR is forty five minutes longer.

I tend to like TDKR better than Nolan's other two films simply because I find Bane and Talia's plan to be so stupid it's hilarious, and Blake is the only character in the series who has a brain. And you know what? I'm also glad that Bale's Batman has smaller screen-time in this movie too. You know something is not right when you're completely happy that Batman barely appears in his own movie.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Something like that. I did all the screen times for Batman over at SHH, and I think someone has mentioned that thread here.

Yep, we have a thread about it here: http://www.batman-online.com/forum/index.php?topic=1680

A really excellent breakdown, Travesty. I think you updated the results after I posted your original findings. So anyone with an interest in this subject should check out your original thread on SHH for the final breakdown: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=335105

Travesty did inspire this project I'm doing, I did this compilation for both Burton's films. Batman got 6 minutes more screentime in Returns despite a running time of 36 minutes shorter.
