I like that closing scene idea and it would tie in very well with the Arkham escape scene from Batman Begins when Bats passes by the cells with all those faces peering out at him.

And I really don't see any harm in us actually seeing the Joker in that situation because all one would really need to see is his eyes peeking out of one of those small windows along with the laugh soundbyte.

That might be too much, though.  Maybe the laugh coming from some obscure cell somewhere off in the darkness or the end of the hall (as earlier suggested) would be enough.

Personally one thing I would like to see in maybe the closing shot; dawn.  Maybe Bats walks out of the Asylum and pan camera to a shot looking at Gotham City with the sky behind it just starting to show some morning light bringing Harvey's statment full circle that the dawn has come.

I wish they would have convinced (or bothered to ask) J.K. Simmons to reprise the role for this reboot.

Judi Dench as "M" in the Bond flicks was enough to convince me that actors reprising old roles can work rather well in reboots and I was sort of hoping they would use the same basic idea for this new Spidey outing.

Hard to believe they won't even be recasting the role.  I'm not a comic book reader but my understanding is that Jameson was always one of Spider-Man's main foils.

I can't believe I missed this!  20 years??  You have to be kidding me!  It seems like only 5 or so years ago I was sitting in a theater on the edge of my seat and only a week or so after collecting all the trading cards and action figures I could possibly beg out of my parents and grandparents.

And I specifically remember asking my father, who took me to see both films on their opening days, "who has more bad guys...Batman or Dick Tracy?"  I already had my own idea as to who had more villains, but I was obsessed with testing my fathers knowledge on both subjects.

What can I say?  I was 10.  :-S

Thanks you guys!  I've had the cd(s) in my truck player since I received them and have immensly enjoyed.  I have to watch it though because certain tracks cause me to put the pedal to the metal without even being aware of it.

It's amazing for me to think back to late 1992/early 93 when I first purchased the original Batman Returns soundtrack on cassette (back in the day) and was disappointed because I didn't hear all the tracks I wanted to hear, and now after almost 20 years I finally have them.  What a trip.

And I have Batman Movie Online to thank for it because I would have probably never known the full score was available for release if not for this site and it's dedication to the Burton films in particular.

Curious about sums it up for me as well.  I can't say I'm overly excited about the idea of using Bane in this film.  I was really hoping for Black Mask, Penguin, or someone along those lines.  But surely the villain list isn't over.

After all, we've had 3+ villains in each Nolan Bat-Film.  In Batman Begins we basically got 5 villainous appearances depending on who's counting.  What with Zsaz, Joe Chill, Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow and Falconi.  I doubt the baddies casting list is complete (and certainly hope it isn't)

Well, I was a fool for posting what I knew to pretty much be rumor, and news that came out today proves it.

Anne Hathaway:  Selena Kyle,  Tom Hardy:  Bane

BURBANK, CA, January 19, 2011 ? Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan?s ?The Dark Knight Rises.? She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Christopher Nolan stated, ?I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.?

In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, ?I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman?s most formidable enemies.?

Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.

?The Dark Knight Rises? is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

I received my copy last week and gave it a good listening to and was extremely impressed.  So glad I went ahead and bought it!  5/5 from this listener.  I was a little confused by some of the tracks on the 2nd CD though.  Were some of those tracks music that was written for them film in 91/92 and just not used, or were they made specifically for this special edition score?  I haven't had a chance to read the booklet that came with the CDs, so maybe it's explained in there.  Anyway, great stuff!  Now to purchase the 'Batman' extended score...

Well according to Batman-News, it's looking like we'll end up with Deadshot, Black Mask, and/or Hugo Strange as the main antagonists.  Nothing official, but there is a lot of whispering going on out there that mainly includes these three.  I'd bet on seeing at least one out of these three appear, if not two.  No word yet on the female villain except it's looking more and more like Talia Al Ghul will make an appearance.

I'd post a link to the articles, but I'm not sure if it's allowed and all it takes is a Google search for Batman News to easily find the site.  Ordinarily I disregard rumors like this until something official comes out, but the person running Batman-News seems to have his act together and is the first to admit that this is all rumor, but also notes that the Deadshot/Black Mask article that was put online was quickly removed at the request of WB.

Personally I find the concept of Deadshot rather lame when it comes to being a foe for Batman, who is almost impervious to guns.  Black Mask, however, intrigues me somewhat.  It would make sense for this guy to have taken over what's left of the mob after Maroni.  I'm still on the fence on how I feel about Hugo Strange possibly making an appearance.

Yep, just like a short, fat guy who wears a tux and carries an umbrella who happens to have an oversized nose is too far of a stretch to use in this "realistic" universe.

But we can have a guy who runs around with a burlap bag on his head spraying drugs in peoples faces and another guy with half his face burned completely off (who isn't dying from infection or in cardiac arrest) is perfectly acceptable.

Oh, and we can't forget how real it is for a dude to run around seemingly unnoticed with this big microwave emitter turning Gotham's water supply into vapor whilst not effecting a single human being who is 90% water other than sending them on a very bad acid trip.

Who's have thought??

Seriously though, I love the Nolan films.  Especially since he added my favorite villain into the 2nd installment, but enough with the reality crap.  If I want reality for entertainment, I'll watch American Idol (gag) or the News.   ::)
