The Flash (2023) / Re: The Batwing (SPOILERS)

Quote from: Silver Nemesis on Thu, 22 Jun  2023, 20:16What did everyone think of the updated Batwing? It retains the look of the 1989 model, but with some notable upgrades. It's capable of intercontinental flight and has an advanced autopilot system that allows Batman to leave it in the air unmanned. The autopilot system could come in handy if Bruce ever needed to airlift a nuclear bomb out to sea and fake his own death.

The thing I find most intriguing about the new Batwing is that it's capable of carrying passengers. The cockpit of the original Batwing was only big enough for one person, but this new version is designed to carry at least two extra people. Why? At first I thought maybe these spaces were reserved in case Batman needed to airlift someone to safety. But the passenger seats are rigged to the same airdrop mechanism as the pilot's chair, which suggests the two passengers would be deployed on missions along with Batman. Were these seats built for Robin? Catwoman? Nightwing? Or just members of the military that Batman might collaborate with?

Any theories?

Thats what I've been wondering. All points lead to Batman working alone and Flash being the first person he's worked with. Looking at the Supergirl breakout with how he dropped flash and walked off to do his own thing.

But the Batwing suggest somthing different, the way the pilot seat turns arond to talk to the those in the back seat too is interesting

Did that include a lot of deleted scenes? I haven't heard anything about that.

Enjoyable movie tho, it deserved a better fate if you ask me.

I think there were 4? But they added alor more character and they includes the faces coming thru the wall that was in the trailer

Quote from: thecolorsblend on Wed, 21 Jun  2023, 16:02My sense of modern Hollywood is that the movie studios are leery of releasing game-changing deleted scenes precisely because fan edits can be cobbled together that completely change the movie.

Looking at you New Mutants!

Does seem like we're getting atleast one (hopefuly)

The Flash (2023) / Deleted Scenes thread

Figured I'd make a thread to talk about deleted scenes from leaks, scripts, trailers etc.

- A conversation with Bruce Wayne about the events in his life since Batman Returns
- Supergirl saying "are you ready?" from one of the deleted endings

- A scene where young Barry is seen drawing out designs for their new Flash suit

I'll be 100% honest. DC has been a mess since Batman V Superman and everyone would find a reason to complain no matter what the ending. There would have been an outcry over all 3 endings. I think it was easier to be like "We got clooney for this and thats it".

This is the same internet that hated Cavil until he was fired (and the fact he was in an ending ads credit to The Rock ruinined it). DC is sadly screwed no matter what they do. The internet hated Batgirl till it was canceled. I've been through very much the same that the entire X-men saga (since X3) has gone through. Fox didnt make things any better either but I enjoyed the ride while it lasted and am thankful we're getting a keaton-esque finally for the 2000s X-men.

In the end, I take it as a win cause we got Keaton back, Snyder cut is cannon, I got alot of films I like (MOS, BVS, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, ZSJL, Flash)

I am more than pleased. If the future movies suck, I have the ones I like to fall back on.

Quote from: The Dark Knight on Tue, 20 Jun  2023, 09:24The edit I saw years back with the deleted scenes reinstated was superb. One of the best Batman things I'd seen, to be honest. Unless Smith revealed this on his show (I haven't watched it yet) I'd like to know he got a hold of the cut and what WB thinks of what's he's saying and doing about it.

So, he got it from the Joe Black guy as part of a payment for some Kevin Smith film memrobilia. Joe Black got it from "connections" in Hollywood. Keven Smith said he got his Flash ticket from WB after the news of him getting the cut went viral. So he's unsure what WB thinks, but it's being verbaly careful when showing it, so he's showing it "for free, if you stick around" after his screening of his stuff

Kevin Smith just said Michael Uslans son told him that Michael Uslan said if Flash did as well as Batman, he'd do a Batman Beyond movie with keaton.

And now we know.

Kevin Smith is now live! Waiting to hear about the workprint!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pAaOoxsIXc

Some takeaways

- Under 3 hours but 2 hours 35 min
- Two-Face mostly redubbed in final cut and is more subdued in this edit
- Two-Face origin (montage?) showing the courtroom scene in the begining of the film
- No Robin laundry scene
- No ADR on security guard
- John Favreau has lines as Waynes stock broker
- Outside the Batman Forever theme the temp score is Batman, Batman Returns and Interview with a Vampire
- Missing edawards "why can't I kill you scene"
- Enhances the film, and feels more in line with falling down and lost boys
- Kevin Smith is getting a better quality version and showing it atleast twice "for free" (July 1st & August 25th) at his pivate screeings for his films but wont release it online (for legal reasons)
