QuoteThis scene has got to be digitally coloured graded into night. I'm sure it will be.

Agreed. I remember reading somewhere that most the scenes in 30 Days of Night were shot during the day time, then adjusted in post-production using the day-for-night process. So there's a good chance these TDKR scenes will take place at night too. They may have shot the scenes during the daytime so the snow would show up better on film.

QuoteI love some of the comments in that link. "Batman is taller than Bane" and "Is that mini Bane?" Exactly what I thought when I saw the fourth photo.

These images are rather lacking in the whole 'David and Goliath' dynamic we usually get from Batman vs. Bane scenes.

Hopefully they'll fix that in post-production.

B:TAS is superb, but I'm not sure if very young kids would appreciate it.

Batman '66 is the perfect introduction for kids Ral Jr's age because it gives them all the wacky villains and action scenes of a classic Batman story, minus the dark, disturbing elements that would freak them out. It's also good as an introductory film because it explains who all the characters are and is very easy to follow.

To be honest, if I hadn't known which character Tom Hardy was playing, I would've guessed he was meant to be Hush based on these images. Mainly because of the coat and militaristic body armour.

The Miranda Tate/Talia twist is disappointingly predictable, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the leaked information turns out to be disinformation intended to throw us off the scent. I'm not accepting anything as concrete until I've seen the final film.

I'm a few hours late with this, but Batman: The Movie debuted in US cinemas on July 30th 1966.

Since the other Batman movies get anniversary threads, I think it's only right this one should too.

So happy birthday to the first feature-length Batman movie!

Great photo from Shawn Reeves

Imagine if they remade Child's Play and used this instead of Chucky...

This teaser looked great on the big screen. I saw it when I went to see Harry Potter yesterday and it sent a shiver down my spine.

Batman definitely looks knackered here. I think he looks wet too. Maybe he's been lured into a trap in this scene, and the guy in the background is one of Bane's henchmen posted to stop him from escaping.

I never noticed the sunlight on the poster before. In both the play and the movie it has the double meaning of sun/son. Edward IV, the son of York. Cobblepot, the son of Gotham. Both symbolising hope.

And 'Now is the winter of our discontent' could've been the tagline for the movie. It so perfectly sums up the mood of Gotham City at Christmastime.

Another interesting parallel is Richard's jealousy of his older brother, King Edward IV. An earlier draft of the Returns script had Shreck revealed as Oswald's older brother. And Oswald is understandably envious of Shreck and the privileged upbringing he's had, just as Richard was of Edward.
