The Superman franchise NEEDS a win. Singer's Superman was just plain awful. Snyder's take was polarizing. Yes, I love Snyder's DCEU. But the market has spoken.

One advantage Gunn's Superman has is a VERY strong cast. Following the trailer, Corenswet has been compared favorably to Christopher Reeve (the pitched down voice) and Tom Welling (his attractive face).

I remain VERY interested in Rachel Brosnahan as Lois. Seems like every time some new piece of Superman media comes along, Brosnahan steals the show for me.

I'll be there opening weekend for this movie.

Jalmari Helander could do a good job with Rambo. A lot of his filmmaking sensibilities are (or could be made to become) compatible with the Rambo franchise.

Stallone's lack of involvement isn't a surprise. But it's still cause for concern.

Even so, I'm not predicting doom just yet. This could be a worthwhile venture.

Daredevil is obviously the best part of the old Netflixverse for me.

But Jessica Jones is a fairly close second. Whether it's a guest appearance in DBA season 02 or returning to her own show, Ritter's return is good news in my book.

If this truly is the end of the line, then it looks like the creative team is once again going to prove that The Conjuring is a better franchise than Insidious.

Part of me laments the fact that the series is ending. As I understand the Warrens' career, they had dozens of movie-worthy cases. While it makes sense that not everything can or should be adapted, there's still a lot of gas in the tank with The Conjuring's premise and formula. The age of the actors shouldn't be much of a factor in terms of continuing the series.

Maybe the crew is just trying to quit while they're still ahead?

Whatever the case may be, I do believe that The Conjuring Universe is sadly underrated among horror fans.I'll be checking this out in September.

In a year or so, we'll probably hear that TB2 has been shelved. The only Batman running around will probably be Gunn's. I have no idea if that's good or bad. But that's my guess.

Something is going on. Did Gunn torpedo the Reevesverse? Can Reeves not be bothered to finish the script? Is there some other factor going on?

I truly don't know. But the first film made more than enough money to justify a sequel. So, the fact that a sequel hasn't materialized is no accident. Someone doesn't want it to happen.

And if it hasn't happened yet, then I don't know if it's even advisable for it to happen in the future at this point.

That would be my opinion no matter what. But the Sonic franchise, the Mario movie and the Minecraft movie are all making it pretty clear what the next big cinema trend is going to be. It's fair to ask if future comic book films might require reduced budgets (if they get made at all) to accommodate the emerging media environment we seem to be heading into.

Bottom line, I have no faith in TB2 anymore and it doesn't take a genius to see that video game adaptations are the next big thing.

Which raises questions about Superman 2025's prospects, frankly.

But Batman might still once again demonstrate his adaptability. A series of films which adapt the Arkham video game series could be a way to keep the character viable on film.

I'm content to use this thread as a dumping ground for everything X-Men-related, movie stuff or not.

On that basis, Chris Claremont's X-Men is streaming for free on YouTube right now. It's a pretty good documentary that chronicles just how much Claremont contributed to the X-Men mythos. Yeah, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby might've created the concept and several of the characters. But there's no way the X-Men would be what we know today if not for Claremont.

Anyway, check it out.

The puppet thing made me think of the earliest iteration of the CG Clone Wars animated show as some character designs looked kind of like puppets. Dooku comes to mind. I'm wondering if that's what it means.

My old vape box randomly died about a week ago. I wasn't happy about that, of course. But it is what it is. Complaining won't change anything.

So, I bought a new vape box. The cashier selected it for me. All I did was describe the specs I was looking for and then the vape store employee pulled this off the shelf:





Is it me? Or does this vape box have a little bit of a Daredevil aesthetic going?
