I think Kevin Costner is the man, the real deal.

Last night he was awarded the Cesar Award (which is the French Oscar) for Lifetime Achievement for his "fabulous contribution" to film.

His wife was in tears and he was visibly moved. The audience gave him a few minutes long standing ovation which moved him even more. He gave a heartfelt and humble (as usual) speech.

I think he's so real and down-to-earth. I've been a fan forever, I think he's great.

You can see in the video I'll link you to that when the host is doing the introduction Kevin is visibly moved. Such a real guy.

I know this may sound kind of a silly question, but who do you think Bruce Wayne would vote for ? Republican, Democratic or Independent ?

Batman & Robin (1997) / Batman batsuit
Wed, 12 Sep 2012, 11:58
I really liked the Batsuit in Batman & Robin and thought it looked really cool. I thought Clooney looked great in it.

Anybody here like it as much as I do ?

I've also got a question for you guys: why was there no yellow in the Bat-logo on the suit ?

I've even bought this poster recently because I think the suit looks so cool (I also bought character posters of Keaton in Returns and Bale in Dark Knight) : http://cache2.allpostersimages.com/p/LRG/49/4916/7MW9G00Z/posters/batman-and-robin-george-clooney.jpg

General Bat-chat / Batman comic-book cover
Tue, 4 Sep 2012, 13:01
Hi guys, hope you can help me out here. I'm looking for a good quality picture of the Batman comic-book cover from June 1988, the one where he stands and it's raining and there's lightning behind him and you can see just his eyes.

The new Kenneth Branagh-helmed Jack Ryan film started shooting a couple of days ago, September first. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS JUST 'CAUSE KEVIN COSTNER IS IN IT.

I am so happy that Kevin is having a career "resurgence" as journalists have been calling it lately. I've been a fan since I was a little kid; own books about him, every single film he's starred in and posters of his films, seen as many interviews with him as possible during the years. HE'S THE MAN. One of my top 5 favorite MEN ever.

Also, beyond the Ryan role, Kevin could have also found his Liam-Neeson-becomes-a-badass-thanks-to-Taken style part in the Adi Hasak- and Besson-scripted Three Days to Kill. I hope he'll sign on to do the role. Can totally picture him playing it.

I CAN'T LITERALLY WAIT TO SEE HIM BACK ON THE BIG SCREEN KICKING A**-

I'm sure excited about him having a few high-profile projects coming out but what I think I'm even more excited about is that he's being re-discovered by those critics that have been putting him down the past 15 years or so. What we are witnessing is a rightful recognition of the guy's talent but I imagine it's easier calling it a comeback.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I bought two Bat-books that got me interested and thought I should have: one's called "The Essential Batman Encyclopedia" by Robert Greenberger and the other one is "The Boy Who Loved Batman" by our beloved Michael Uslan.
What's your take on them ?

Movies / Kevin Costner
Sat, 24 Sep 2011, 16:13
I've been a fan of the man since my dad introduced me to his movies, bringing me to the cinema in late 1991 to see "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves". I was only 3 years old but I've been hooked on the movies ever since. In 2004, dad and I went to the movies and saw "Open Range" which was terrific (we both are Western fans) and he passed away only three months after that ... but that's another story.
Apart from being a movie star, there's so much more to the guy, first of all an honesty and an accessibility that really show how down-to-earth he is.

What do you think of him, guys ?

This interview aired yesterday and it's very much revealing of the man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v06D8del3RU&feature=player_embedded

Take the time to watch it in its entirety, it's really worth it.

Misc Comics / Batman Azrael ?
Wed, 21 Sep 2011, 09:47
Hi guys, I remember when I was a kid seeing some comic covers of Batman in a sort of "mechanical" armor, something definitely different from his usual get-up. Today I stumbled across an old Batman comic book of mine and found out that the series of comics that featured Batman using that armor-like suit is called "Batman Azrael". I'd love to learn everything you guys know about this.
