Bruce and Diana look very good. Still not convinced about Eisenberg's Lex.

Me neither.  :-\

Agreed. Affleck's the most Wayne-looking out of the recent actors.

I have a feeling that Snyder is deliberately trying to subvert expectations with Luthor. I don't mind a Lex with hair (who loses it through the story, like in the Byrne comics or Lois and Clark), but the pic doesn't seem Luthor-like at all to me and the bald one from awhile back was much better. I've always pictured Lex in better clothes than what we've seen so far.

I wonder if they're going for a Steve Jobs vibe with Luthor. Cause remember he had the total hippie thing going when Apple began and then over the years he evolved to look more professional and finally the black turtleneck look. Or maybe like Edward Nygma in Batman Forever. But yah definitely not sold on that look

I love the pics of Batsy, Supes, and Wonder Woman. Gal is so freaking gorgeous!

All looks good to me. Affleck looks great as Bruce, and Gal is stunning.

That's got to be the sexiest shot of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman right now. Nice thighs!  ;)

Affleck looks imposing as ever in the Batsuit.

As for Cavill...does the 'S' stand for smug?  ;D

This is how Affleck described Bruce Wayne/Batman, and the state of Wayne Manor in the Entertainment Weekly article.

Quote
"He's at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There's this sort of world-weariness to it...He's on the verge of being swallowed up by the anger and the rage that we see haunt this character in the other manifestations of it, but this guy is further down the line and has become more embittered and cynical."

The outlet also had a description of the new Wayne Manor for the film, calling it "a desolate husk, overtaken by weeds and water-stains after years of neglect."

:o

The thing that intrigues me is "maybe nearing the end of his life".  Are we going to get a scene where he has a near death experience like that charity car race accident at the start of The Dark Knight Returns? Does Bruce flirts with suicide, perhaps feeling guilty over the deaths of everybody he cared for in his life, and hates himself for being so powerless to save them?

I'm surprised to hear that his mansion is in a state of disrepair, but it doesn't necessarily say that he stopped living there.

I dont know how anyone could NOT be siked for this!!

I am so excited to finally see a proper Batman film again; Ben looks the part, maybe better than anyone ever before, he looks like he's been ripped straight out of the comics!
Cavil looks VERY Superman here, so again thats a plus, and with this not being an origin story as such, we can just get into it from the get go and rampage, which I feel is always best for a CBM.

WW looks cool too, know very little about her character, but she looks the part and fits in.

So excited for this though, not too keen on Luthor I have to say, but its still early days in a way - hoping we see another trailer come next Saturday at CC, I want to see some of Batman in action, and maybe a clue as to who/what the spam of the story is.

Whatever else that can be said, good or bad about the look of this movie, I can't deny, Affleck looks great in the Bat-costume.

Same here JG. I'm hoping people get over their hate for Affleck the way they did for Keaton 27 years earlier and jusdge the film based on its merits. It looks like Affleck will be the grouchy stick in the mud wayne. This if post-Robin so we'll likely get the angry Bruce who's been through way too much crap over the years and trusts no one.

I don't really think there's any Affleck hate anymore, or at least people are waiting to judge the performance. I think it was mostly due to him being a completely unexpected choice out of nowhere. People have had time to mentally adjust to the news.

Supes and Bats will appear on the front cover of that dreadful Empire Magazine in September.

(https://www.batman-online.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn1-www.comingsoon.net%2Fassets%2Fuploads%2Fgallery%2Fbatman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-1400694960%2Fempire_sept15cover.jpg&hash=6fa7148cd12e3474355a5dd2b9ae10c31c2aacff)

And here's a textless version of the cover.

I've seen some people complain that Affleck looks "too big" and "he has no neck". I reckon he captures Frank Miller's vision perfectly.

'Dreadful'?  Why?  I've been collecting "Empire" for a couple of decades and I don't know why you think it's 'dreadful'.

The only think I'd say is dreadful is the new cover with the tear effect across the middle.

I won't lie, I dislike most movie magazines, but I especially disagree with Empire for lots of reviews and they basically suck up to the big name directors. But then again, they might have vested interest in doing so. It's just a personal thing, nothing else.  :-\

Anyway, if you look at the bottom right corner of that cover, you'll notice an alternate cover of the two as Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent.

I like the concept of the cover. I wish this was the '90s still and the cover was those hologram things where if you move it side to side or up and down the image transforms from them out of suit to in costume and ready to kick ass. But that fun stuff is dead and gone so I guess this will have to do.

I've liked everything I've seen of Affleck. Keaton is anchored to number one spot for me, but I think Affleck is going to become one of my favourites. He seems to have the billionaire playboy side, which Clooney did have. His steely expressions also give me enough confidence in terms of darkness/introspection.

WTF. The moment this cover appeared there were the inevitable "Batman has no neck" jokes in fb bat-communities.

It's either a really bad edit, or they had better stills to choose from.

Indeed. Those comments don't really make any sense. It can apply to any actor or actress. 'I don't see Clark Kent I see Henry Cavill', etc, etc. Ben is a bigger name, but we all know who the real life performers of any characters are.

Except Christian Bale of course. He totally blends into the role of Bruce Wayne to where Christian no longer exists, hell he is exactly what Bruce Wayne looks like. In fact he should totally change his name to Bruce Wayne because he totally is less Christian Bale than he is Bruce Wayne.

::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

And I know sarcasm doesn't register well for some peeps so I'll go ahead and add that that was total sarcasm and me imitating Bale-man's fanboys. lol.

One can be sure Empire received an entire press kit of yet unpublished promo stills and behind-the-scenes with the actors in costume besides the few they published.

My point was - is this THING the best Batman pic they could publish on the cover of their magazine? Looking at it again, it looks like bad photoshop. You can even notice bad masking in the left neck area.

I've never understood that argument myself. Besides Batman has rarely been played by an unknown in live action in recent decades. Ben Affleck is the latest in a long line of established names (stars in some cases) to play the role.

I think what they are trying to say is that they don't think the actor has "changed enough" for the role (usually compared to another actor) which is of course only a matter of opinion. Some can say that they just see Jack Nicholson in a purple suit, while I can say I see the Joker.

It's such a strange complaint to make now because apparently back in the 80s, the critical consensus claimed that Nicholson embodied everything about the Joker.

Total Film magazine released a new cover of the heroes a couple of days ago.
