Other comics / Re: Wonder Woman (DC Comics)

Adam Hughes' cover artwork on Wonder Woman was really caught my eyes back in the day, but I do remember first seeing his art on the covers for Vampirella and Tomb Raider as well.

I do vividly recall reading from Wizard Magazine that Adam Hughes was set to do a "All-Star Wonder Woman" book which would follow both the All-Star Superman and Batman books, and was to feature Adam Hughes art on both the covers and interiors, but unfortunately nothing came of it.

Adam Hughes sold Wondy very well, and DC Comics at the time were well aware of this. As Hughes' art was featured on the covers of both the "Official Character Guide" book from the early 2000's, and also the "Essential Encyclopedia" from around 2009/2010.

I can't imagine Channing Tatum trying to pull off a cajun accent, being anything but comedy gold, but a Gambit film was actually in the cards, so to speak, once upon a time.

It looks like season 6 is basically three mini-seasons. I've enjoyed this show a lot, but it's time to wrap it up before it overstays its welcome. Hopefully they'll end it on a high note.

I've got that Return of the Jedi comic. It only adapts the movie as far as the scene where Obi-Wan tells Luke that Leia is his sister. Apparently the rest of the film was covered in the second issue, but my local comic book store didn't stock that back in 1994 so I never got to read it. Still, the first issue does a decent job adapting the movie's opening act, including the entire Tatooine sequence. If the second half is as good, the two issues combined would make for a satisfying adaptation.

John Rhys-Davies was a guest on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast back in March. Among other things he discussed his work on the Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings films, and towards the end of the interview,he mentioned this short film and said that director Roger Christian is finally making a feature length version of it. Whether it will happen remains to be seen, but Rhys-Davies seemed to think they'd be shooting it this year. He discusses the project at the 1:04:14 mark.

This novel sounds promising and should make for ideal October reading in the run-up to Halloween. I'd prefer Miller to disregard Hamm's comics and craft his own canon. Mainly because I think there's a superior version of Billy Dee Two-Face to be written, and prose offers a better medium with which to explore Dent's psychological deterioration.

I'd also like Miller to address the immediate aftermath of the 1989 movie. Bruce was badly injured, the wreckage of the Batwing lay burning in the streets, and countless Gothamites had been murdered by the Joker. I'd like some insight into how Bruce and the city in general healed following the Joker's reign of terror.

I'd also like to read about the first proper meeting between Batman and Gordon. Gordon sees Batman during the battle at Axis Chemicals but doesn't speak to him, then we see them talking after the first Red Triangle Gang attack in Batman Returns. There's a missing stage in their relationship that should take place between those two conversations, and which could offer fertile ground for Miller to explore.

To echo what others have said, the author vitally needs to capture the idiosyncrasies of Burton's Batman, not simply write this as if it were the generic comic book version. Burton's Batman is distinct from other iterations, and the novel should respect those distinctions.

Deadline's financial analysts have named The Flash the second biggest box office bomb of 2023, bringing in an estimated net loss of $155 million for the studio. You can read a full breakdown of their analysis here: https://deadline.com/2024/05/biggest-box-office-bombs-2023-lowest-grossing-movies-1235902825/

The only 2023 movie that bombed worse was The Marvels.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I've been busy with work and other commitments. The site automatically logged me out and I neglected to log back in, so I didn't get Joker's PM until now. But I'm absolutely fine. I should be more active posting from now on.
