I really love his artwork, which I've only recently been really exposed to. There's this beautiful heroism to it, like his Justice League: The New Frontier. I mean yes dark and brooding is en vogue (At a Batman site especially) but I really like that lighter look.

And I totally adore this:

He made this nice little animated short on Batman Beyond for the Caped Crusader's 75th Anniversay two years ago.

It's definitely sad to hear he has cancer.
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Damn it, this site's Facebook/Twitter feed announced he passed away.

Rest in Peace.

To my shame, I never knew the name before, but it appears I've long know his artwork, which is absolutely stunning and among my all-time favourite superhero art.  It has this beautiful, pulpy, retro feel.

I particularly love his interpretation of Catwoman/Selina:

What an amazing artist.  And an utter shame he has passed away.  :(

Rest in Peace Darwyn.
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

From Wikipedia:

QuoteHe worked as a storyboard artist for Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series, and in 1999 he animated the main title design for Batman Beyond.

He also was behind the comic Batman: Ego, which is one of my absolute favourites.

Sad loss indeed. RIP.

Yeah, I hated hearing about this. What an amazing artist.

Rest In Peace
