Comic Film & TV / Spawn the animated series
Sun, 3 Mar 2013, 22:11

Excellent, dark and unique animated adaptation of Todd Mcfarlane's 90s hit comic is also from the same producers of Batman TAS and Gargoyles with a few of the same designers, i loved this since i was 15 when it first aired on HBO and been a fan of the comics since issue 1. Keith David, Richard Dystart and many more were on this show and i like how Madhouse animation was involved with the style.

Batman: TAS (1992 - 1995) / Cult of the Cat
Thu, 31 Jan 2013, 02:45

One of my fave episodes of TAS (actually new adventures since it's the 4th and 5th season) and had some interesting ideas to it, funny to see how a sabretooth tiger would befriend Catwoman suddenly which was odd.

And any guys thought Selina in her nightclothes in the end looked smokin'? i did when i was 17 when i watched that episode on WB and i had sexy fantasies of her.

Comic Film & TV / Akira (1988)

Awesome and influential animated sci-fi action masterpiece that made anime more mainstream since it came out in 1989 here in the states and around the world as it was a hit in it's country and became one of the most acclaimed animated movies ever plus a cult classic plus it's based on a manga (aka Japanese comic). I loved it since i was 13 when i rented it from one of my city's video stores after hearing about it in movie books/magazines so i decided to rent it and it blew me away, i even got the criterion laserdisc for christmas that year and i got a VHS copy as well including collected some of the Marvel Epic version in backissues at my comic stores in my city and had a wallscroll with t-shirts.

Batman: TAS (1992 - 1995) / Blind as a Bat
Wed, 23 Jan 2013, 00:04

Best Penguin episode ever and yet another one of my all time fave episodes. I like the idea of Batman getting to be like Daredevil for a night which was fun to see him being like that cyborg on His Silicon Soul and was an intense on the edge of your seat episode.

Comic Film & TV / Heavy Metal (1981)

Cool, sexy, violent and fun not for the kiddies animated sci-fi horror fantasy anthology based on the adult comic magazine of the same name and from the makers of Ghostbusters/Animal House. Nice voice cast like John Candy, John Vernon, Eugene Levy, Harold Ramis, Susan Roman, Alice Playten and Richard Romanus with different style in each segment plus from the makers of Raggedy Ann and Andy a Musical Adventure.

Loved this since i was 12 when i saw it on cable with other cool adult animated cult faves like Vampire Hunter D, American Pop, Rock and Rule, Hey Good Lookin' and Robot Carnival and they all became instant faves of mine. I even bought R&R (a used copy) with VHD, HGL and RC when i was 13 plus HM on video with the CD soundtrack (still own it) when i was 15 and AP when it finally came out on video at 17. I did replaced some of them with DVDs and blus over the years.

This movie is kind of like Creepshow meets The Fifth Element, Playboy, the Neverending Story and Akira.  And Taarna is by far one of the sexiest toons ever besides Jessica Rabbit and this is one of my fave comic based movies and one of my fave animated movies.

General Bat-chat / Captain America and Batman
Sun, 20 Jan 2013, 10:22

Who else thought it was cool that they fought and became friends in DC vs. Marvel, Captain America/Batman and JLA/Avengers?

Who thinks Captain America is similar to Batman in some way? i mean does anyone think both are highly skilled combat artists who are non-powered and are the most unique member of their universes's teams and have cool weapons plus who thinks Bucky and Jubilee are like Robin, RedSkull is like Joker and all that? we all know Avengers are like JLA.

This should be a fine installment and improve over the last one, i'm glad it's going back to R-rated basics as the franchise intended.

Batman: TAS (1992 - 1995) / Tyger Tyger
Fri, 18 Jan 2013, 23:45

Who likes this episode? one of my favorite episodes on number 31 on my top 35 fave epsiodes.

A fun cocktail of Island of Dr. Moreau. Zombie Holocaust aka Dr. Butcher MD (Similar idea of a mad scientist doing hybrid experiments on an island and to steal something from a major city only difference is in the movie the Doctor makes human-zombie hybrid experiments than animal-human ones), Freaked (remember this hilarious sci-fi comedy with Randy Quaid and Alex Winter, Mr. T, Brooke Shields, Bobcat Gothweit as a literal sockhead mutant and more as it's the one with the mutant freaks and that mad scientist?), the Tiny Toons episode "Hare Raising Night" (Remember that episode with the mad scientist Dr. Gene Splicer?), Screamers (1979 aka Island of the Fish-man), Splice (2010 movie) and 1984's Osamu Tezuka anime cult fave Bagi The Monster of Mighty Nature.

Who thinks Dr. Dorain looks like young David Cronenberg without glasses? who else thought Tygrus was cool?

And any guys here thought Selina Kyle in mutant cat-chick form was strangly hot? i did, i remembered when i just turned 12 in June of 93 as it came out as a repeat on Fox on my birthday and i watched it with my bigger brother and a few of my friends before having my party, i did missed out on it the first time due to having an annual vacation in either fall or summer since 89 to Vegas and when Selina crept out of the shadows in the exhibit, i said "What the hell" as i was surprised including my pals and bigger brother who said "Whoa, she's a cat". Then after commercial break, when she did that seductive pose in the exhibit i said "MY GOD, SHE'S HOT! and she's nude too" as i wolf whistled at her, howled at her, my jaw was dropped during the entire episode as i was staring at her as i was fantasizing about her, my brother and friends say "Your nuts" and even teased me, LOL, that brings back memories. Of course Catwoman is my comic book dreamgirl and everyone has to admit she's hot no matter how she looks like in cartoons, movies, games, comics and video games for it doesn't matter if she's blonde/brunette on TAS, The Batman version, Brave and The Bold version, comic version (except for the ugly Year One version), Arkham City version, Michelle version, Julie version, Lee version, Ann version and even Tyger Tyger version, she's still a babe.

You have to admit mutated Selina is on par with the likes of other 80s/90s feline babes like Cleo from Heathcliff, Jenny on Bucky O'Hare, M'ress from Star Trek TAS, Callie from Swat Kats, Mirage on Aladdin, Felicia from Darkstalkers, Bagi from Bagi The Monster of Mighty Nature/Dr. Comet's art, Kitten Kaboodle from Talespin, Aishia Clan Clan from Outlaw Star, Kit Mambo from Animalympics, Pam and Polly the 2 witch cat sisters from that Eek The Cat episode and Cheetara with Pumraya on Thundercats.

Batman: TAS (1992 - 1995) / Joker's Wild
Thu, 17 Jan 2013, 21:22

Who likes this episode? one of my favorite episodes, sure it's done by AKOM but the writing is brilliant by Paul Dini.

Gotta love it when Joker trolls Ivy which is quite memorable and it's cool that the guy who played the original Perseus in Clash of the Titans 1981 version Harry Hamlin is a guest voice on this episode.

I also love the idea of having a Joker themed casino which would make a cool idea for a Las Vegas resort.

Another fan favorite episode and stars the 60's Batman himself as Batman's idol Grey Ghost and i love how this episode shows one of Bruce Wayne's inspirations to be Batman.

Me and my bigger brother love this episode as it's one of our faves.

Other comics / Superman vs. Aliens
Wed, 16 Jan 2013, 20:05

Anyone read this outstanding Dark Horse/Fox/DC crossover? i remembered when i was in junior high when it came out as months before it hit stores i read in Wizard magazine on an article about it i was like "No way, Superman vs. Aliens? sounds cool" and it delivered since i'm a DC/Superman/DarkHorse/Aliens fan as it was one of the coolest crossovers i've ever read and got the graphic novel for Christmas.

Who thinks it's as good as Batman vs. Predator?

Batman: TAS (1992 - 1995) / Heart of Steel
Wed, 16 Jan 2013, 05:37

Who loves this episode? it stars the guy who played Sebastian in Blade Runner and it's a homage to 2001, Blade Runner, Terminator, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Halloween 3.

Candice was quite a sexy cyborg i should say as she looked like Michelle Pfeifer/Marylin Monroe and this was very well made.

Another one of my favorite episodes ever and my mom digs this episode as does my bigger brother, i think it's quite a dramatic one too and did anyone noticed Nitro is voiced by the same guy who voiced Smartass the weasel on Roger Rabbit? i always thought that and it's David Lander.

An alright 2 parter that was the first premiere episode after that pilot sample episode On Leather Wings and introduces us to the fanboy fave babe besides Harley and Ivy known as the one and only Catwoman. I thought she was hot on this show and she's been my comic dreamgirl since i was 8 and she looked like Michelle Pfeifer on the first 3 seasons and she was voiced to perfection by Adrienne Barbeau who is one of my favorite actresses plus she was in another DC property known as Swamp Thing the movie.

Who else thought RedClaw was a rip-off of Baroness?

Batman: TAS (1992 - 1995) / On Leather Wings
Wed, 9 Jan 2013, 00:34

Ah yes i remembered when this episode first aired as a pilot sample episode on prime time on Fox when it hit late August and it blew me away.

Such a nice Jekyll/Hyde kind of story that brings Man-Bat to animation and well made episode i should say. Who knew that BeastMaster was Kirk Langstorm's voice?

Comic Film & TV / Oldboy
Wed, 9 Jan 2013, 00:30

Awesome Korean crime thriller that is very popular and very violent as it's based on a Japanese comic book as it's about a man locked in a private prison for 15 years from gangsters as his only link to the outside world is his TV and his delivered newspapers plus he has a nice bed with bathroom for himself as he does gets haircuts as his sheets washed to be changed to new ones and new toothpaste with toothbrushes, new rolls of toliet paper, new towels and all plus 3 meals a day with water delivered to him and 15 years later he is FINALLY out yet seeks revenge on those that did that to him.

It's quite shocking at times but nicely acted and produced.

I mean do you think she would had made a good helper to Bane and his terrorism plans? and who would had played her?
