One of the cameos was Michael Fassbender, apparently. He played Universe 838's Magneto who lobotomized 838's Wanda under orders of that universe's Dr. Strange, who became aware of the Witch prophecy when he encountered the darkhold. The original cut was much darker and the Illuminati's questionable status as heroes was more than implied like it is in the theatrical version.
Recent years have confirmed to me most of these movies are not works of pure passion or the sole vision of a filmmaker, but a corporate machine masquerading as art. Art should be uncompromising and translated as purely as possible. More than ever a film gets announced so it mechanically gets made following a set formula. And if a studio gets cold feet for whatever reason they will intervene with edits, cuts and reshoots which always leaves me wondering what the original intentions were. Justice League and Suicide Squad really brought that in to focus.
