I've been curious about this for a while. Can anyone confirm that this more vintage Catwoman costume design was being considered for RETURNS? I know Burton's early art was more in the vein of what we wound up with.

Could this possibly be one of the early looks considered for Annette Bening early on?  She was cast around March/April, and dropped out of the film around June 91. I'm guessing the character design process was pretty far along by that point.

Speaking of Bening, are there any costume test shots of her as Catwoman?

Misc. Burton / Keaton BATMAN 3 maquettes?

I'm not as familiar with the different suit concepts as some of you. I saw this posted on io9 today and it got me a little curious. It claims to be early B3 costume maquettes, being designed for Keaton.  It was my understanding that the project wasn't far enough along when Keaton dropped for suits to be designed/developed.

Does anyone have insight on this thing?  Were they just using a Keaton head for early sculpting on the Kilmer suit? The article mentions is might possibly be from RETURNS, but the bat logo definitely has the FOREVER look-- sorta concave V shaped, not flat like the 89/RETURNS logos.  I really don't remember seeing any concept suits that resembled that for RETURNS.

Hey gang!

Does anyone happen to know the artist behind this unused marketing art?  I've seen that the original art is in a private collection.  Last time I asked, the collector isn't sure of the artist.  Such a cool piece! It's interesting that this variation has Keaton with top billing.

This is a huge long shot.  I've been reading about this thing for ages--Robert Wuhl even mentioned it on the DVD doc.  Apparently WB considered a black and white, art deco period piece for Batman before Burton's involvement.  I'm guessing this is between 1983 and 1985, but who knows... there could have been simultaneous scripts in development.

There is next to no info in the wild on this thing, other than subtle mentions in a few magazine interviews.  Does anyone know who pitched it?  Does anyone know who, if anyone, wrote the treatment or script?  It's a long shot, but does anyone actually HAVE a copy of this thing?  Does anyone have a contact at WB or DC that might could shed some light?  Maybe even Sam Hamm, Uslan, Mark Canton, Jon Peters, or Robert Whul?  I know... like I said, LONG SHOT.   8)

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here ever scored a copy of the first draft Daniel Waters RETURNS screenplay?  Almost every draft of the hamm's script for the first film is easy to come by.  Aside from the two drafts online, RETURNS scripts are definitely harder to dig up.
