Not surprised by this; everyone saw the Nolan films and in turn everyone thinks they are a Batman expert - its sad really, now the original films are nothing but bad-mouthed by 90% of Batman "fans" because its not made by Nolan.

The Tumbler sucks, plain and simple, its boring and has no style to it, no panache.
Burton's and both of Schumacher's are so much better and look like real Batmobiles.

They're sleek, sexy, tough, intimidating, exceptional and unique, in general they are everything a Batmobile should be.

Bruce visiting the spot where his parents died and placing the two roses comes to mind. It's short, but the music and Keaton's facial expression really impresses me.
At the risk of stealing another poster's line, it helps when you're not playing the character, but you are the character.  :)

Totally this, or well maybe the final battle between Batman and Joker, but really the scene where he visits the alley and places the roses, man, the feels!

Wow, I've never seen that ad before. I like how the glimpses we saw look very similar to the Burton films than the Schumacher's neon lights. My only reservation about ending the film like that is Robin seems out of place just standing by as Batman charges at the escaped convict.

The song comes across as a James Bond-type theme song sung by Nine Inch Nails.  :-\

For real man?
Oh duuuuuuuude, its a great ad, and for me totally encapsulates everything about Forever and id proabably my favourite piece of promotion for the entire film.
Totally remember that song being the first thing I searched for when I got my first computer hahaha.

Yeah I guess its obvious too that the ending scene wasn't something that was filmed for the film, rather just an adapted version however I think it would have been something very similar.

Animated Batman / Re: Batman vs. Robin

Watched this, meh not liking the last few animated movies tbh, since TDKR they haven't really been that great IMO...i.e since they lost Bruce Timm :/

I want to see more older stories be brought to life, how about TDKR2, or Knightfall?

This one was fun though, wont watch again like, very violent, maybe too violent and was a way to maybe appeal to more adults and make it more anime, but either way I just thought it was ok - nothing special.

Truly spectacular teaser, and man does Affleck look like Batman!!
I honestly feel like we're gonna be seeing a proper Batman movie again, for the first time since 97, I feel like this is worthy of the Batman name and will not be ashamed of going all in with it!

But yeah, Affleck looks great, he's intimidating as sh!t, like WOAH, he's bulked up and is straight outta the DKR comics, though I hope its a case of Batman has had a long career already as opposed to a retired old man Batman, we've JUST seen that and makes me think we wont see too much Batman in the JL movie run.
Having him at the stage where he's lost Jason and Dick is NW is the best point I'd say, he's a veteran, he knows what he's doing without being a rookie, him in his prime.

It sounds great though, man that bass blow every few beats is so powerful, really brings the movie full circle more than any score for a Batman film has in some time.

I'm so excited for this, the battle between Batman and Superman is gonna be epic, but I also hope its personal and doesn't go all over the city, keeping it close and tight would be best - just one heck of a fist fight!

Plus really hoping Jenna Malone is playing the Oracle, she'd be perfect as her, she easily looks the part and has the acting chops for it too.

Eeeee so excite for thas!!

I've actually just finished my Bachelors in Computer Game design haha; erm I honestly would look at the Batman & Robin game from 97/98 and work on that.

Because damn, if that game had better controls, it would have been something!  It came before GTA in terms of 3D open world, in fact I think it was the first, or atleast the first that offered such a grand space to explore and the graphics for the time were damn nice.  If only they had better thought-out the controls, that game would be praised a hell of a lot more.

The real-time aspect is something I'd carry over too, hell actually I'd take the format and apply it to all of the original Batman films and make a game that focused entirely on them.
In this day and age, if you too the controls and graphics of the Arkham series, and applied them to the mechanics and idea of B&R I think you'd have one dandy game.  Bring in quotes from the movies as well, and make them straight-up adaptions of the films, but with real-time so its pushing the story and keeps the player invested and immersed in it.  Of course adding in some areas which weren't parts of the film to lengthen out the story, like battles at Axes, or random Red Hood fights in the street, or intercepting mobs stealing resources for Freeze's suit or whatever.

If I could have a game that encapsulated the original 4 movies in one fun game, each being their own section (think of it maybe as each one being their own Crash Bandicoot Warp Room) that you can explore when finished the core missions.  Would be fun I think.

In terms of whether or not they would allow Batman to return after what had happened, I dont think it'd have mattered - the next film would most likely been another chapter in the Batman series, like another comic story.  I doubt much attention would have been paid to making it all connect together tbh, but it were, I could just see it being a case of Batman having even less to do with Gordon, maybe that would have been why he enlists the help of Robin eventually?

Do you mean while Batman is still mistaken as a fugitive or after he's proven innocent? In any case, his association with Robin under such circumstances is quite a good idea.

Well thats the thing, it'd depend on what route the film actually went, but either way I think it'd work.

Like IF the police were after him, then he might feel he needs someone for general help, he adopts Robin and goes from there.  Or it could've worked how it did in Forever and Dick would have found the batcave and then just pushed to help.

I dont know, but remember, in terms of Batman being a fugitive, Gordon did yell to his men not to fire; so that clearly shows that Gordon had trust in Batman, even at such a time, so were the police REALLY against Batman?
I guess the one thing that Returns is missing is that one wrap-up scene where everything is laid-out, setting up the what was presumably already happening sequel :/

Oh well, its still the best film ever made!!

Dude I am sure I saw it during the Christmas time, or atleast late year, mmmm Im not sure, maybe I'm talking out my ass hahaha!

I did find this though;

At the 2:40 mark is the trailer for the premiere of it and it would have been shown on the 26th of October 95.
Damn thats a nice tv spot for it  ???

Plus here's the commercial spots for the showing of Predator 2 (2 weeks prior to Returns)

I never thought about the Returns ending haha; but doing so now I really think the original ending would have made much more sense.
Or if they had done both, like you have Gordon and the Mayor looking at eachother and asking if he'll ever forgive them?  Then it cuts to Bruce finding the cat, pans up and the light hits and Catwoman raises her head.

Hey peeps,

First post in YEARS (I think), still totally addicted to Batman so nothing has changed on that front atleast haha!

My question is, does anyone know when the Batman Returns premier was on ITV?  I remember having it on tape and it being the first Batman film I had and would watch it religiously (now I do the same, but on DVD), but its always held a soft spot in my heart, everything like the adverts, the "Coca Cola sponsors" bits before and after a break, everything!

Does anyone know however when exactly this was?  I've searched around and just can find anything, and like I'm assuming it was around 95 (the tape I had was labeled Batman Forever with a big score through it and Returns under it), but yeah does anyone know when it was, or hell does anyone even remember it?!
Oh goodness, I'm giving away my age now.  :-[  But I recall it premiering on ITV around November 1995.  I recall wondering why it wasn't being shown as a Christmas premiere instead of about a month before the holiday season.  I think it was screened on a Thursday or maybe a Wednesday (sometime in the midweek) and that it annoyingly had to be split in two for the ITN News at Ten, meaning the second half of the film would probably have ended close to midnight.

Although I didn't have a video-player at the time I did ask a friend of mine to record it so that I could borrow it.

Duuuuuuude!!

You have like instantly became one of my favourite people ever haha!

I do remember that ITN did show Returns at Christmas time one year, maybe two years in a row, cant remember, but yeah oh man I love you haha!
