Was that cat chewing on a real hand, or was it fake? This of course is in the scene where Selina is lying unconscious in the ally. I would love to know how they achieved that effect. It was so gruesome.
Apparently the actor Blake Hudson (1944-1988) donated his body to Hollywood which was subsequently frozen before parts of it were used, as appropriate, for various films, including his hand for Batman Returns' 'finger chewing sequence'.  I also understand various parts of his body were used for the bravura Normandy Beach landing sequence in Saving Private Ryan.

Do you have a source for this? It sounds hard to believe.

Well, I first learned of it from the script.  ;D I wish that person who had the final script, the script that never leaked and was used for the official shoot would put it up online somewhere. :-\ I love your avatar!!

We had a topic about this somewhere. We speculated if the original cut of the film contained Catwoman's longer (feminist) speech to Batman while he's hanging off the ledge, per the script:

There's another reason why Pfeiffer fought the likes of Sean Young and Madonna for the part after Annette Bening dropped out. When the '60s Batman TV series began, Pfeiffer was just eight years old, and she looked to Catwoman as a major role model: 'She was both bad and good, and little girls are brought up to be good. There were some lines cut from the movie that I felt summed up the character: "Little girls are brought up to wear pink panties, and little boys are brought up to conquer the world." '

Who is this d_osborn person. I love him or her already. How would the call sheets indicate if the lines were shot? Call sheets were up on eBay a few years ago.

d_osborn, are there any scenes in that draft that probably were filmed but were cut. In one of the making of specials, they show Selina saying something about electroshock therapy while holding up and looking at the clown's stun gun. I know that was in the script, and obviously, it was shot. It was cut in the final print.

Made me think of Batgirl, not Catwoman.

Thank you for this! Very insightful. ;D God, what if their comic adaptation contained almost half of cut material? I always loved them changing "bitch" to "witch." Didn't they also use "Sin Here"? That was in an earlier draft of the script, so I doubt they chose it to cut down due to it being explicit -- even though it was a comic book adaptation for an adult movie.  If it was printed under the Comics Code Authority, they probably HAD to change stuff. I wish there was a way to get in contact with the writer for the graphic novel.
