Messages - Catwoman

Been away a bit, we lost Kevin during that time so I had to come back and post in this. I can't remember the loss of any entertainer affecting me quite like this one did. Adam West was tough, but not entirely unexpected at his age. Robin Williams was painful but given some of his struggles, the manner in which he left made it less of a surprise (though no less painful). This hit me like a ton of bricks. I've still had a hard time revisiting some of his work, which I know is exactly the wrong way to deal with it. It's just been hard. I will always regret never getting to meet the man as so many did at different conventions and so on and expressing how grateful I was to him. I do truly believe he felt the love from all of us as a whole, though.

Didn't know which topic to post in about seeing the movie so I figured I'd just do this one.

Finally saw it here recently,  a couple years late but successfuly avoided any spoilers somehow (part of my absence from here). Really enjoyed it. The Batmobile chase sequence was my favorite but overall I really loved the movie. Robert was a great year two Batman, excited to see his Batman and Bruce Wayne both evolve. Michelle's Catwoman is still my queen, I doubt that will ever change, but I really liked Zoe. The whole cast was pretty great. I wish there had been more moments of Bruce and Alfred but I'm sure that will come.

I haven't even seen the finale, but it's all over the internet. I opened up twitter, and I see screen caps of the ending and people openly talking about it. I watch this on Fridays with my friends.

Bummer....

Dammit that sucks dude. I had someone reply to me saying something about that without any names and I was still thinking "shut the f*** up!" Even saying there's something ruins the surprise. That's why I said I couldn't say anything at all.

I hope you can still enjoy it with your friends for what it is.

Holy sh*t what a ride. Can't really say a word about the finale that isn't a spoiler but wow.

Might not be a popular choice but for Catwoman I would say Catwalk. The way she feels like a caged animal as she's trying to go straight and lets the "cat inside" show like when she tells off Veronica Vreeland at her own event. She finally accepts, almost apologetically, that she can't escape it. It reminds me of Batman Returns and Selina's climactic rejection of Bruce and his fairy tale happy ending.

Two-Face's origin is in the running for best episodes but I think there needs to be some honorable mention given to Second Chance. I love that one as well.

The show is a f***ing roller coaster of emotions, and I'm loving it.

And episode 7 kicked the speed of that roller coaster up to about 500 f***ing miles per hour. Whew.

I've been watching it with my friends on Friday night, and I've been enjoying it for the most part. All of my friends are in love with it, though. I'm not as enthused as them, but I do enjoy it. I don't hate James Gunn, but I'm not a fanboy either. I just find his humor to be a bit contrived at times. I do laugh quite a bit, but it can be a little grating in certain spots.

Same. Humor targeted at the juvenile and juvenile-minded doesn't do much for me usually so some of it I'm not the biggest fan of. The best example would probably be when Vigilante interrupts Peacemaker's emotional moment and the protracted discussion through the window that follows in the second episode. That was obnoxious but some of it, I do catch myself giggling or even outright laughing at (Adebayo's WhatsApp mishap, for instance lol).

What I love is the heart the show has, I really didn't expect it to especially after the first episode (my expectations were not particularly high as it was going on) but it has been great. The scene with Cena right at the end of the sixth episode - and knowing he performed it himself - was amazing, I don't want to spoil it but I guess it's already out there and it is known that he does that in real life anyway, but still. It was such a pleasant surprise.

The show is a f***ing roller coaster of emotions, and I'm loving it.

Episode five down, it just keeps getting and better. Far better than what I expected leading into the show or even through the first episode.

Dammit somebody else needs to watch so I have someone to discuss it with. lol. It's the number one rated show according to IMDb and all I'll say is believe the hype. It's an action packed emotional roller coaster with a sh*t ton of questions still to be answered with just three episodes to go in this season.

I heard this POS show has the titular character making gross remarks about some of DC's beloved heroes, i.e. joking about Wonder Woman eye effing him in front of schoolkids, Superman has a fecal matter fetish, and Aquaman pays for sex with fish.

Yeah, you read that right.

This is apparently the direction those degenerates at Toxic WB want to go for. A cheap Deadpool knockoff. Deadpool sucks ass, and so does this.

James Gunn is an unfunny creep.

Yes, Peacemaker has made these jokes (the WW one hasn't come up in the series yet but was in trailers) and also went on a diatribe about Batman, calling him a pussy, a jackass, and repeating the oft-asked question of how many people he's indirectly killed by not killing villains like the Joker once and for all.

Thing is, this isn't a superhero show. He's a villain, or is actually being portrayed as an anti-villain, and it's working as we see more of who he actually is which has been the biggest and best surprise of the show, but you still have to have elements that show he's still a douche and the poster child for toxic masculinity. He's also shown to be naïve. Direct quotes, first responding to someone saying Global Warming is not a hoax: "Psh, yeah, Facebook's lying to me every day."  Being asked where he gets the things he says after the above mentioned Superman comment which was in the newest episode and replying "Google" and being told it's wrong, "So you know more than Google. Congratulations."

Four episodes in (three on premiere date last week and the fourth today) I'm really enjoying it. It's a bit of a mess, yes. Chaotic and crude but it's also got humor and heart. Really eager to see where it's going to go after today's revelations.
