Batman Forever (1995) / Re: BF poll
Fri, 6 Nov 2009, 22:33
I was 7 when this came out, I'm sure I watched the first two aswell but this is the one I grew up with and remember the most,I have always liked it. Sure as I got older I disliked some parts but I have to say it is still my favorite Batman movie after all these years.

The positive parts definetely outweigh the negative ones.

I agree,I felt pretty much the same way.
But since he was Joker i checked alot of his previous work and such, Read alot about him too. So when i heard about it, That along with talking about him with a crewmember the day before it felt "weird".
Other then that, I thought about the exact things you thought about too, LOL.
If he never was casted as Joker, I would just have seen it as another headline.

On the 21th, I spoke to a stuntman that did some scenes in the movie.
Brother of Buster or something like that. We talked about the movie and he talked about Heath,Bale,Nolan etc.
He said that Heath wasnt very nice in person and things like that, But who isnt when you are bothered while working.
Anyhow, Once the news hit i got extra shocked due to just talking about him with someone who actually met him and worked with him.

From what i have heard he was only credited as a tribute by Joel, and had no involvement in the movie itself.
Just as the doctor at arkham who was named Dr.Burton, Also a tribute to him.

I think the main theme is pretty cool, Specially when i was young.
The movie came out when i was about 7 years old, I had lots of toys from the movie. And i remember humming the main theme while playing with the toys. I had the Bruce Wayne toy that you could put the batsuit on.
So while he suited up, I hummed that theme! ;D
The memorys!... I still have the Batmobile somewhere.

A while back i did the same thing, When i put on one of my Replica cowls from my collection. LOL.

Too realistic might be the wrong word,I like both Begins and TDK alot, Just like i like all the other movies.
Like i said, All have their up and downs. But there is something that always felt off for me with Nolans movies in Some scenes. I dont know what... Maybe im too used with the fantasy world Burton and Schumacher did.
However, I get goosebumps in many scenes in Begins and TDK...Same feeling i get with Keatons opening scene and pretty much all the way through B'89.

Out of all Batman movies i have probably seen Batman Forever the most.
But i dont think its the best one, I enjoy all the Batman films.

Im just more obsessed with Batman Forever because it have my favorite Batman suit, The nipples doesnt really bother me much. Rest of the suit make up for it. The favorite parts of the suit for me is the Cowl emblem, belt and gloves.

There is alot of good visual effects and production design in the movie too, I also like the fact it doesnt feel like it was shot in a studio lot. Gotham feels so much bigger then it did in '89 and Returns, Sure there is lots of neon and crap but if you look past that its a great design.

I think all of the Batman Movies has their up and downs, Even '89 and Returns. I dont care much at all for Nolans movies as they doesnt feel like Batman movies to me, Its too realistic for my taste. Wich is probably why i enjoy the older movies alot more, Even Forever and B&R.
