In a series of social media campaigns for calls to restore the Snyderverse, Joe Manganiello joined the chorusfor his take on Deathstroke to star in his own project. The #DeathstrokeHBOMax hashtag trended up to 102K tweets, while Marv Wolfman gave his approval for the actor to play the character again.

Check out the video below for more info.

QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

None of this is happening in a vacuum, guys. Only a fool would think AT&T and HBO Max aren't paying attention to all this.

Manganiello again tweeted the hashtag when asked about the other Twitter campaign that happened this morning - #MakeTheBatfleckMovie.

The video link I posted above said it top trended with 150K, but it was really 169K.

Other couple of points from that video:

Should we read too much into Jeffrey Dean Morgan following a pro-Snyderverse account, or no?

The fact that BvS Ultimate Edition and ZSJL have Superman's death happening on the same exact time goes to show the intricate detail Snyder puts into his films. Unreal.

Towards the end of last year, Manganiello went on record saying he had given up on the chance to ever play the character again. Now he's using the portrait of Knightmare Deathstroke as his Instagram profile pic.

I'm going to assume he still has strong desire to reprise his role, at the very least.

Manganiello has had some pretty bad luck with comic book roles. He was apparently a strong contender for Snyder's Superman at some point but his TV show True Blood basically torpedoed that. Seems like Deathstroke is more bad luck for him. Sad.

Manganiello shared this image of a custom-made Knightmare Deathstroke action figure on his Instagram story.

If he ever does play the role again, I only hope he has nothing to do with James Gunn. Knowing him, he'll likely make a joke about Slade Wilson's sexual relationship with underage girls, and then argue its comic accuracy because of his relationship with Terra in The Judas Contract. Not all comic references are good.
