Animated Batman / Re: the brave and the bold?
Tue, 27 Jul 2010, 12:37
Just thought you should all be made aware of this cool new toy!  Hot Wheels has just released a Batman The Brave and The Bold Batmobile.  It's easier to track it down by it's series number which is 49 since the package doesn't state that it is from The Brave and The Bold for some odd reason.  So good luck and happy hunting!  Oh how I hope this one is a helluva lot easier to track down than the Hot Wheels Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

Non-Americans tend to be better actors overall.

As an American, I can agree with this.  Brits play Americans better than Americans can play Americans.  Americans playing Brits, well, that's just an embarrassment.

Example #1.  Brits playing Americans:  Kate Winslet in Titanic.  Kate Winslet in Little Children.  (Kate Winslet basically in anything.  ;D)  Emily Blunt in Sunshine Cleaning.  Emily Blunt in The Devil Wears Prada.  Rebecca Hall in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.  Kate Beckinsale in The Last Days of Disco.  :)

Example #2.  Americans playing Brits:  Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta.  Gwyneth Paltrow in Shakespear in Love.  Resse Whiterspoon in Vanity Fair.  Scarlett Johansson in The Prestige.  >:(

Sorry ladies, I am not buying your lousy acting school accent.  Perhaps you could learn how to think and feel like a tree before attempting to trick us into believing you are British.  And that's coming from an American!

Yes I used women for my examples.  Shall I continue?  Should I use men?  Should I bring in the Canadians?  I think I proved my point.

As far as Nolan goes in casting The Riddler or The Penguin or whomever, I really couldn't care where the actor came from, just as long as he has someone else cast the female lead (whatever that character maybe, I don't know) because I strongly feel his main weakness in his films is his casting choices for the female parts.  Now I have not seen Inception yet, so I cannot judge Ellen Page.  However I can judge Katie Holmes and Scarlett Johansoon.  I am still trying to figure out what in the Hell he was thinking when he made those decisions.  I hope I read a story somewhere later on, where he lets us in and reveals that there was gun pointed at his head and was threatened with death if he didn't cast them.  That's the only logical explanation I can think of.

I will give credit where credit is due:  I like Carrie Ann Moss in Memento and I liked Hilary Swank in Insomina.  At least I think I did, it's been forever since I have seen either movie.  I think Maggie Gyllenhaal was a far better choice for the role Rachael Dawes, but by the time she got to it, the damage had been done and I literally cheered when I saw that character meet her doom!  Good Riddance!

So with better casting and perhaps even better writting, Nolan will finally get that solid female role for a talented actress.

Wow, two years later...  And it's still on heavy rotation on HBO/Cinemax.  Nice Job! :D

my only hope is that whoever buys it uploads it for us poor people

Give it time my friend, give it time.  That is how I "found" the Batman The Animated Series Limited Edition 2 Disc set.  Seriously though, this is cool but you know there are more than 5000 people that would like to have this, so I don't feel sorry for La La Land Records or the record industry in general when this or any other popular item that is produced in limited quantities gets uploaded on the internet for those to download who desire it, but couldn't get it because of some stupid decision of limited quantities.  Please spare me the speeches of the whole collectability of the item, because if this thing retails for $30 bucks, you know it will be sold on Ebay or somewhere else for double the price and La La Land Records is not receiving that money.  So yeah, I doubt I get one through proper channels, but if I happen to "find" one through other means, I won't lose any sleep over the fact that La La Land Records screwed themselves out of a sale.  And if you fellas do the same, then more power to you.

*Don't mind me, I'm just pissed over the whole Hot Wheels Ecto-1/Wonder Woman Invisible Jet exclusives that are only going to be available at the San Diego Comic Con.

I actually got one of the Corgi Supermobiles at a flea market a couple of weeks back along with a couple of other Superman Corgi vehicles.  It's silly, sure, but oh so cool!

Speaking of silly, yes the Super Powers Supermobile is indeed that, but what I wouldn't give for a complete line of Super Powers!  Figures.  Vehicles.  Playsets.  Figure carrier.  Books, the whole cotton pickin' thing!!!  I've been checking those out lately and darn it all, I truly believed I missed out on something great.  And now it is going to take some heavy cash and some luck to buy all all the pieces for a collection.  The thing is, I only remember seeing them in a store once.  I know they were out for a couple of years, but I only recall seeing them once.  And when I did see them, did I buy one?  No, of course not.  I bought a G.I. Joe check point/ammo dump thingy (yes, at one time in my life, I could have even told you the real name of this toy, but not anymore. Getting old sucks!)

Well thank the Lord for Ebay and flea markets.  Here's hopping I get lucky.

Hoffa
Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito

Tim Burton also appeared in Hoffa.  check it out.

That's Fantastic!!!  The next time I watch the movie (it came it out in 1992 and I finally got around to watching it in 2010) I will look for that!  Great stuff!!!

Another good one would be Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. and Batman Val Kilmer.

Plus The Prestige with Batman Christian Bale, Alfred Michael Caine and Wolverine Hugh Jackman.

Also The Package with Lex Luthor Gene Hackman and Two-Face Tommy Lee Jones.

A long time ago I had started a list of all the Batman actors who were in other movies together.  I included Tim Burton on my list as well, but left out producers, best boy, and stand-ins for obvious reasons.  For example in no particular order since this is off the top of my head:

City Slickers
Jack Palance and Tracey Walter

Mars Attacks
Tim Burton and Jack Nicholson

Hoffa
Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito

The Peacemaker
George Clooney and Nicole Kidman

Mad Love
Chris O'Donnell and Drew Barrymore

My Life
Michael Keaton and Nichole Kidman

Johnny Dangerously
Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito

One Fine Day
Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney

Predator
Arnold Schwarzeneggeer and Jesse Ventura

Last Action Hero
Arnold Schwarzeneggeer and Danny DeVito

Cobb
Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Wuhl

Pulp Fiction
Uma Thurman and Christopher Walken

The Real McCoy
Kim Basinger and Val Kilmer

Man on the Moon
Jim Carrey and Danny DeVito

Blue Sky
Tommy Lee Jones and Chris O'Donnell

You folks get the idea.  Let me know if anyone is interested in the rest of the list.  If so, I'll unbox it and attempt to update it to include Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
