Other DC Films & TV / SUPERMAN SATURDAY
Sun, 10 Oct 2010, 15:22
Just wanted to give a heads up, the movie channel Encore will be running a Christopher Reeve Superman marathon on October 16th.  Not sure which version of Superman II is airing, but I honestly don't care.  It will be fun to watch all four them back to back to back to back!!!  :)

OK my European brothers and sisters and anyone else who is in the know,

I am wondering something.  Was the Batman 1989 novelization only available in the UK/Europe as a hardcover book, with the paperback being an import or was both versions readily available at the same time for you folks?

By my count there are three versions of this book:

(1) The standard mass market paperback.
(2) The hardcover version which from my understanding was only available in the UK/Europe, and maybe Canada.
(3) The book club edition, which seems to have been edited down.

Am I missing any other versions that you are known to exist?  Sure I would consider any versions in other languages other than English another version.

If anyone can help me out on those two questions, it would be a big help!

Thanks!

Just to piggy back on Silenig's post about the Batman Returns Official Magazine, here is a link for the Spanish versions of the Batman and Batman Returns Comic Adaotations.  Forgive me if I got the Spanish part wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.  I just know it's not English.  These are in a CBR file and you will need a RAR converter/extractor.  Enjoy.

I ran across this and thought this would be a fun list to debate.

http://kotorimagazine.com/index.php?news=127

Keep in mind this was written in 2008, so no Watchmen or X-Men Origins: Wolverine appear on the list.  I like the fact that the author here included the major movies and didn't keep it to a Top 10 list.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and my only major gripe right off is, Dick Tracy and The Rocketeer are not on the list.  I would have included them along with the graphic novel movies as well.  I'd like to hear what you all think before I add my two cents.

Misc. Burton / Michael Keaton Pod Cast
Thu, 18 Mar 2010, 13:42
Here is a fun little pod cast from the site, Stuck in the 80s about our favorite man, Michael Keaton.  The first link will take you directly to the pod cast and will automatically begin playing.  If, for whatever reason, that doesn't work, the second link will take you directly to the Stuck in the 80s site.  Just look off to the left side under Recent Episodes.  It's not quite half way down, but is posted in-between Duran Duran and Thriller.  Enjoy!

Merchandise / Batman Trading Card Guide
Tue, 2 Feb 2010, 05:26
Well crap.  It is times like these that I hate the internet.  Thanks to this site here:

http://membres.multimania.fr/batmancity/

I am going to need at least three or four life times to complete my Batman trading card collection.  I have some, but not nearly all of the ones listed.  If nothing else, it's a great reference guide to have.

Merchandise / Wanna Trade?!?!?!
Sat, 10 Oct 2009, 01:52
Hello guys and gals,

Since I have been under the weather this week with this nasty cold/flu stuff and haven't felt like working on more fan art, I decided to look at my Batman trading cards before I headed to the flea market this weekend.  I was going to track down a certain vendor there who I know has whole sets of cards, but I decided to go through my cards this afternoon just to see what I really need instead of buying a whole set when all I really need is one or two cards for certain sets.  So with all that said, does anyone want to trade cards?  I have extras of almost everything; except the Batman Returns Topps Stickers.  I am sure I have something to trade, so if you want to work something out let me know via a post here or a private message.  This is what I am looking for:

BATMAN RETURNS TOPPS STICKERS for sticker book (66 set)
5, 9, 11, 16, 20, 23, 26, 27, 28, 31, 35, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 45, 46, 51, 54, 56, 57, 61, 63.

Batman (1989) / Bob Kane Sketch From BATMAN?
Thu, 24 Sep 2009, 18:36
Does anyone have a clear, preferably non-screen cap picture of the sketch that Bob Kane did for BATMAN, that was handed to Alexander Knox in the movie?  The bigger, the better too!  Does that picture even exist?  Is it in the making of the movie book?  Mine's tucked away in a box which is buried at the moment.   If you do have one and are willing to share it, please let me know.  Thank you!

For Immediate Release:

POPPS Trading Card Company is pleased to announce that this fall will bring a new and bold change to the trading card industry with the introduction of The Joker Trading Cards!

The Joker Trading Cards which features "Gotham's Number One Clown!" in 132 cards of The Joker, his henchmen (and women!), his favorite art, chemistry assignments for the kids and so much more!  Also included in every pack of cards will be one sticker of The Joker, which on the reverse side becomes a puzzle piece to form a picture that can only be seen once all the pieces are collected.

And what kind of card company would POPPS be if bubble gum wasn't included with the cards?  Well a bad one, so yes, along with the cards and stickers, a single piece of LDS chewing gum is included.  What is LDS chewing gum?  All we can say is, that if it is good enough for Captain Spock, then it is good enough for us!

Jason Todd, a proud member of the Grand Order of Occidental Nighthawks (G.O.O.N.) Street Team had this to say, "These cards are fantastic!  It will blow away anything Batman has ever done for the city of Gotham!  In fact I think it will burst his bubble!  These cards are top notch with a high glossy finish and the gum is excellent!  It never loses it's flavor and it takes you places that you can't even begin to imagine!"

To start your collection please see any member of G.O.O.N. or visit your local hobby shop or convenience store.

Suggested Retail Price:  Well, chances are, you bought'em already!
