Not to be confused with the current (as-of-yet unnamed) Batman vs Superman script, back in 2002 - before Chris Nolan took on the Batman franchise - a lot of possible ideas for a Batman film were put through the studio mill process. These included a Year One film and a Batman vs Superman film directed by Wolfgang Petersen - which almost got off the ground.
