Untitled Joker origin film to start filming in May

The much talked about Joker origin story is set or we should say, rumoured, to go before cameras this coming. Recently we have heard of a possible Joaquin Phoenix portrayal of the titular villain, however casting has bit been set in stone.

A website, which tracks production dates of upcoming films, has stated that the yet untitled origin story is set to start filming as of the 1st of May, 2018. Todd Phillips (The Hangover) is to call the shots behind the camera, with the legendary Martin Scorsese, set the produce.

It is rumoured to take place sometime in the 1970s so it remains to be seen if it fits into the current DC Universe or would it take place completely on its own, without those connections or possible cameos.
