Batman star, Michael Keaton, honoured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

     Michael John Douglas, but known to most as Michael keaton, received the 2,585th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July 28th, 2016. Keaton started in the early years as a production assistant at Pittsburgh public television station WQED. He later moved to Hollywood in the mid-1970's, taking the stage name of Michael Keaton to avoid confusion with Hollywood star Michael Douglas.

     Keaton had several television credits including The Mary Tyler Moore Hour and Working Stiffs on CBS. His first starring film role was in 1982's Night Shift, which opened doors for other films like Mr. Mom, Gung Ho and Clean and Sober, the latter film showed that Keaton not only had brilliant comedic chops, but can go deeper with dramatic performances.

     The versatile actor first worked with auteur Tim Burton on Beetlejuice and this led to one of his best known and highly praised role as Batman, Bruce Wayne in the megahit and instant classic of 1989, Batman. He would later reprise the role the legendary sequel, Batman Returns.

   Keaton received a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for his role as Riggian Thompson, a washed-up actor trying to regain his mojo by staging a Broadway show in the highly praised Birdman. He will later be seen The Founder, the story revolving around Ray Kroc's acqusition of the McDonald's food franchise. The film is scheduled to be released on December 16th and there is already some Oscar buzz that may lead to more nominations and possible wins for the film and it's star, the one and only, Michael Keaton.
