Arleen Sorkin Praises Arkham City's New Harley, Tara Strong

Earlier this year, it was announced that Tara Strong would be replacing Sorkin as the voice of Harley in the game's sequel, Batman: Arkham City.

No stranger to the Batman world, Strong has performed in several animated superhero movies and television shows and provided the voice of Batgirl/Barbara Gordon in The New Batman Adventures, Vicki Vale in The Batman vs. Dracula animated movie, and The Huntress in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

In response to the new casting, Sorkin contacted us last week to let her fans know how happy she was for her former Batman co-star:

"Of all the people to be replaced by, I am happy it is Tara Strong.  Whenever I would work with her, I'd marvel at how talented she is.  In fact, I even told my husband [Chris Lloyd, executive producer of Frasier and co-creator of Modern Family] about her and her abilities."

Looking back at her time on the first Arkham Asylum video game, she commented, "I LOVED playing Harley and getting the nomination [for Best Voice] at the Spike T.V. Video Game Awards was thrilling."

Sorkin wished the new Harley all the best, speculating, "Maybe Tara will be able to tie the Joker down!"

In 2009, actress Arleen Sorkin spoke to Batman Online's sister site, Brother-Eye.net, in a lengthy interview (click here to read it) [edit: Interview now housed at Batman-Online thanks to Ben - Paul] about her career in voicing Harley Quinn for Batman: The Animated Series and the Rocksteady video game Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Batman: Arkham City will be released on October 18th.
