There are a lot of franchises out there, but only a few are considered truly worthwhile. What's your favorite movie franchises?

For me:

1. Batman (especially because of the Burton/Nolan series)
2. James Bond
3. Lord of the Rings
4. Indiana Jones
5. Pirates of the Caribbean/Superman

1. Batman
2. James Bond
3. Star Wars

Those are my big three.

Numbered but not in any order of significance.

01- Star Wars (up through 1983)
02- Batman
03- Superman
04- Terminator (surprisingly entertaining!)
05- Star Trek (until 2009)

for my list I decided to include ones in which I own all or most of the films

1. Back to the future- only series in which I've owned 3 different versions of; VHS, DVD, 25th anniversary blu ray as well as 30th
2. Friday the 13th- own them all except 9 and 10
3. Terminator- own the first 2 on blu ray and 3rd on DVD
4. Trailer park boys - own all 3 on blu ray. Also even though it says films only, I have all the seasons on DVD
5. Austin Powers- own all 3 on blu ray

honourable mention; i'm a fan of the rocky series but don't own any of them. I also enjoy the Burton/Schumacher bat films though I only own B89 and forever as I think Returns and Batman Forever are best left for occasional viewings. I also like Die hard although I havent seen the fifth film. I get a guilty pleasure out of the jaws films although I concede only one or two are actually good films
