Probably won't buy the game, but I enjoyed watching that clip. Wonder Woman is emerging as one of my new loves. I think it's also due to her being a mix of Batman and Superman. Which makes sense when she completes the trinity. She's a blend. Superpowers like Supes, and elements of his hopeful vision and humanitarian values. But combined with a fighting style that surpasses even Batman, but with swords and other weaponry. She also can retreat to the shadows at times when disillusioned with mankind. So I like all that stuff.

so the good news is that it seems based on the marketing, the villains from suicide squad are in it. The bad news is most of them were in the first game (Joker, harley, deadshot). I Wonder if they will overall up their roster of bad guys though? I think sinestro, bane, solomon grundy, and zod were the only other villains in it (and catwoman who is more of an anti-hero)

If anyone is interested, Damian Wayne has gone back to being Robin. He was Robin when he killed Dick by accident in the tie-in comics.

Five or so years later, I've finally completed the story mode, twice. The best thing about this game is you can have two different endings, if you choose to side with Superman or Batman.

The great tragedy of Injustice 2's story mode is it gives you a glimpse of what the Justice League used to be, once the former Regime and Insurgency members agreed to join forces to fight an existential threat. But eventually, you are shown how divided they have become after defeating Brainiac. I can be pretty critical of Batman's no-kill policy when it becomes painfully obvious that his refusal to cross that line is enabling more terror, but the creators of the Injustice games were smart enough to offer the other point of view of going too far if you do cross that line. When it comes to Superman, you can see how much grief and holding onto ideals that cost Lois' life could lead him down a path toward tyranny. Things become absolute, and in Superman's mind, his actions are absolutely just.

Perhaps the best example I can think of is a reformed Harley Quinn joining Batman's side. It sounds absurd and even outrageous if you take into account that Harley was an accessory to Joker's crimes and guilty of committing outright murder, but it goes to show the difference between Batman and Superman in the Injustice universe. Batman has a strong belief in rehabilitation and reform, even among some of the worst criminals, and Harley made her contribution by rescuing Green Arrow and Black Canary from the Scarecrow. Her improving state of mind is illustrated even further once she fights off the Joker's control of her and defies his orders to kill Batman, while suffering from a hallucination after getting gassed by Scarecrow.

In contrast, Superman believes in retribution and would've punished Harley for her past sins if he had the chance, and believes such a diabolical mind as Harley Quinn could never be cured. It's an outlook he shows throughout, as you can see in a flashback of Superman sending Arkham Asylum prisoners for execution. The irony is for all of Batman's fear of losing control of killing someone, he had inadvertently sent Superman towards a dark path. As such, Joker was aware of the potential mayhem and took glee in making the world's greatest hero into its most feared dictator. In that case, it's perhaps Joker's greatest ever victory he has ever had.

As far as gameplay goes, it's a bit more polished than the first Injustice game, the clash system works much better in the sequel. The customisation and inclusion of gear mods are a welcome touch, so it's great that you can modify the outfits. The graphics are definitely superior to the first game.

I've noticed the game made a few retcons, such as bringing back Green Arrow despite the fact it was established he was killed in the first game, but then I read that Doctor Fate brought another variant from the multiverse into the Injustice universe. IIRC, Robin joined Superman's Regime around the same time he had accidentally killed Nightwing in the tie-in comics, but in Injustice 2, he clearly sides with Superman after killing Victor Zsasz. I got to say, this version of Damian Wayne is perhaps my favourite so far, just for laying down some brutal truths about Batman for his own brutal violence despite his refusal to kill, and his failure to protect everyone he cared about. As much as Superman's Regime have gone too far, there is an uncomfortable truth in Batman's own moral inadequecies does as much harm.

It has been pointed out that Superman's super move where he punches an opponent in the sky is very similar to the moment where he punches Zod in MOS. But not many people have pointed out that the Batwing flying over the moon during Batman's super move is clearly a nod to that iconic shot in B89.

I read a few days ago that Bryan Cranston voiced this narration for the trailer. In fact, I read a lot of people at the time were reading a lot into that speech and assume he was playing Ra's al Ghul in the game.

How about motion capturing his face so he can play Brainiac in the new Cavill Superman movie?
