Interesting read from The Economist about the changing expectations towards Batman's physique over the years.

One quote from Affleck seems to have rubbed Adam West the wrong way:

Quote"This isn't the Adam West days. You can't just roll out of bed and put the suit on. Audiences expect you to look like a superhero."

West responded on Twitter by posting several shirtless pics of his younger self, accompanied by captions like: "Suns out guns out #Batbod #BatmanvSuperman @usatodaylife."

So take that, bat-body shamers!

Isn't this a picture of West before he became Batman?

Still, I've read comments from people online accusing Affleck of being a little porky and sporting 'moobs' as Batman/Bruce Wayne, so perhaps he should be a little less quick to judge others.  :-X
Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.

Hubba hubba

West's Batman is too readily dismissed like that. Love the guy, and the TV show.

Adam West doesn't get nearly enough credit, and I'm glad he brought up that his physique wasn't lacking for the part. West had a great look for bringing Batman onto the screen, as much as we sometimes like to dismiss it for being parody. But to be honest, the suit was a little wonky, and didn't compliment his build as the specialized suits to come would.

I know Affleck's comment was made in jest, but that came off as a little low. I still commend Affleck for physically matching his comic inspiration.
