The (real) Catwoman Movie

Since seeing Michelle dawn the mask & whip for Batman Returns, there has been a longing for a CATWOMAN based movie. (Wait. There was? Halle who? what are you smokeing?) I think that IF someone came along (Hell even Tim Burton) and didn't a Origin story, that was dark, gritty, and gave the character of Selina Kyle a REASON to become Catwoman (aside from BR), it might actually be success. Some good actors wouldn't hurt either! What are your thought's on how the story could develop?

Personally, I think her "post crisis/year one/Her Sister's Kepper" story line would be a good basis, obviously, it would need to be lifeted a bit so it meets Hollywood standards, but I think it's a good start. I read the script idea for the Pfeiffer spin off few years back. Not the greatest, and a tad bit silly, but better than "that of which we do not speak of"

The problem is there hasn't been a solid comic film yet with a female lead. Look what we have so far;

I think DC's first priority would be to have a successful Wonder woman film before green lighting a serious attempt at catwoman. Though Marvel seems close to having a solo black widow film.

I remember when Ashley Judd was rumored to play Catwoman mid-90's to 2000.  Then Halle Berry did the movie.  And that will probably be the final Catwoman solo movie.  More of a chance we'll see the character in Batman Reboot.

'When In Rome' is always raised as a plot that could work for a solo Catwoman film. And I tend to agree. You get to cover Selina's possible origins with the Falcone connection. You get to see some action with her fighting and running in the catsuit. Batman featured in some capacity - which I think would be important to include, in this instance realistic dreams, and you'd get in a classic villain tagging along in The Riddler. If it were done carefully and with respect, I'd be there to see it opening night.
