I think I read somewhere that he's actually the son of one of the kids that bullied Tommy Doyle in the 1978 original, and was also one of the kids that was snooping around the Myers house in that classic scene where Dr. Loomis tells them to get their ass away from there!

That is true. Lonnie Elam is the boy who bullies Tommy in the original film and is mentioned by name by Karen's husband. PJ Soles is also the voice of Allyson's teacher and Nick Castle returned to play Michael for one scene.

There are also a number of callbacks/similarities to the sequels. One of the victims is dressed like Mrs. Elrod from Halloween II and Oscar mentions Mr. Elrod later in the film. Children can be seen wearing the masks from Season of the Witch. There's even one that takes its DNA from sequences from both Halloween 4 and Halloween H20.

Although I am not sure if it was intentional, there's also a story element that harkens back to something Sherif Brackett says in Halloween II.

It'll be interesting if Halloween can deliver two great, enjoyable movies back to back. That's never happened before. At least not for me.

I keep coming back to this thought. I hope all the key players come back: David Gordon Green, John Carpenter (with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies), Jamie Lee Curtis, and, I can't believe I am saying this, Danny McBride. Also, I hope the main title jack o' lanterns are here to stay.

I thought there was a teaser poster for The Dark Knight that had the cracked logo, but I can't seem to find it.

I am not saying you're wrong, but I can't find it. I know it was used for the teaser trailer and there might've been a promotional image featuring a still from that.

The only posters I remember for TDK are Joker writing "Why So Serious?" in blood, the aforementioned graffiti poster, the Fight Club-esque images of Batman at the windows of his apartment building and the Project Mayhem-like fiery bat symbol burning on the side of a building, Joker in the streets, the individual character posters, and the Bat Pod poster.

I enjoyed it a lot. I have a few reservations with the editing at times and some story choices. There's a plot twist that is a little silly, but it kind of works, I guess. Also, there's a character I felt should've died, but disappears completely from the movie.

I absolutely love the score. I've probably listened to the end title track over 30 times by now.

I've heard of somebody working on a fan edit titled "Black Suit Edition" for over six months now, and he re-edited the entire sequence of Batman's assault on Steppenwolf's base and getting the Parademons' attention. As you can see in the clip below, he used colour correction to change the scene's red filter to the original darker pallette, as it was seen in the original trailer for the movie, and replaced Elfman's score with music from the warehouse scene in BvS. Unsurprisingly, the scene looks as if it is from Snyder's real vision.

That is such a vast improvement. They did a fantastic job re-editing the sound and switching out the music. Any idea if he's toning down the humor?

It extended beyond the original four films. If I remember correctly the teasers for the Nolan films were just the logo, along with Batman v Superman.

TDK had that poster where Joker's face was spray painted onto a brick wall and the bat symbol was his lips. TDKR had the city crumbling and the negative space in the middle formed the logo. I swear there was a teaser poster for BB with just the bat symbol, but it may have just been a logo reveal and not an actual one sheet.

Also, I just realized I made an error regarding BF's teaser poster. The bat symbol was the dot when the question appears in the sky during the actual film, but on the poster, it appears on the inside of the question mark.

Returns has some underrated posters. The teaser's awesome, and I've always loved the Bat-Symbol entrenched in snow.

It compliments B89's poster beautifully. They even included a version of it in the trailers and as a kid in 1992, I went into the theater fully expecting to see it as the main title sequence, much like 89's.

At the same time, I'm happy it wasn't.

Here's another good piece of news coverage when B89 got released on VHS - while it was still running in theatres!

I remember that happening quite a bite during this era. You could walk into the dollar theater to see Jurassic Park and The Fugitive on the days they were released on video. Back then, it was about staying power, not just opening weekends.

I completely forgot that the VHS cover didn't even have any words on the cover. That was a bold move.

That was the great thing about that marketing. It didn't need words.

Personally, my favorite posters for the series are all four logo posters. The snowy bat symbol, The Riddler's question mark using it as the dot, Robin's symbol overlaying Batman's, they were incredible.

One thing I liked about the 2006 release was that the posters they emulated appeared on the back. Something similar was done with the steelbook Blu-Ray editions and the result was pretty slick.

Speaking of those Star Wars steelbooks, I wouldn't mind seeing something similar with the Burton/Schumacher films using the villains.
