If Clooney Batman met again, if O'Donnell Robin met Pfeiffer Catwoman?

As Joker or Penguin or Catwoman if Burton hadn't made his films first or his films had more blatantly been a different continuity?

Or as Batman in '88-'89 if he had gone first? I think he would have gone with huge cool star Bruce Willis.

Ivy was made more sympathetic and maybe even reasonable, more of an anti-hero?

How different may the film have been like that? And if she didn't have a poison kiss, or could she have been more sympathetic and reasonable even having it?

Batman Forever (1995) / The Catwoman reference

I think it implies that this universe's Catwoman is in prison or Arkham. Because Chase says it in a playful tone, not a like a criticism (which would be the case if she was trying to say You liked her so much you never caught her) and the comment would also feel a lot harsher if Catwoman was dead or presumed dead.

Misc. Schumacher / Another villain (what if)
Sun, 13 Dec 2020, 18:22
What if Rene Auberjonois, seen very briefly as Arkham's Dr. Burton in BF, had actually played Jonathan Crane/the Scarecrow in a Schumacher film? Instead of one of the villains in BF or B&R or in a fifth film?

The studio and Schumacher might have preferred a big-name star as a villain but I think Auberjonois could have played Scarecrow well, in either a somewhat goofy or more dark version. Scarecrow does seem fitting for a late-teen/early adult Robin, let alone if a fifth film did have Dick Grayson in college.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012) / Anyone like

That Alfred's vision of Bruce and Selina at the end was as ambiguous as it was (even if that wasn't the filmmakers' intentions)? I think the scene can come off as a hallucination by wishful thinking and also as something really seen and it's nice that it isn't totally clear which it is.

If he had been trying to steal/extort money rather than be indifferent to and even burn money.

It would be pretty big but probably amusing hypocrisy if he had been very hostile to society and its rules but also wanted to be rich.

Batman & Robin (1997) / Freeze's motivation
Mon, 27 Nov 2017, 19:28
A somewhat cheap but still fair complaint against the film is that if Freeze just wanted to do research cure his wife, he could have applied for grants from Wayne or from real-life rich, charitable people and groups.

Does this undermine the character and his origin/motivation a lot or not much? Could a better background and motivation have been done?

If Alfred hadn't left Bruce but had actually pushed him to come out of retirement and fight Bane? Then his guilt at the end would have been stronger and in some sense made more sense (since in the actual film Bruce suffered due to his *disregarding* Alfred's advice).

Ledger was good though IMO not great. Why do you think the portrayal become a phenomenon?

Did the political and economic events of the time make anarchism and anarchic terrorism seem more relevant, interesting, profound?
Did the portrayal seem really unique and fresh for comic book movies, different than and better than a lot of people expected?
Did the movie, with Dent being corrupted and Batman sacrificing his reputation, make it seem like in some sense the Joker was right and won and that made him seem cooler and more significant?

Misc. Nolan / Nolan's biggest problem?

He's pretty direct and unsubtle, especially in trying to present his themes, which are not necessarily bad traits but when combined with him trying to have a Serious Realism approach and Serious Important Social Commentary the directness makes a lot feel more cartoony than realistic, even excessively cartoony, without even intending that result.
