UPDATED: Thu, 7th July 2011

Adam West cameo rumours turned out to be false (according to The 1966 Batman Message Board), however they may have been fueled by an actual crossing of wires...

Movie news site Movies Online reported that a local news site in the UK ‘This is Nottingham’ had multiple users saying they had spotted Adam West in the area back on June 17th.

Messages such as: “Has anyone else spotted Adam West knocking around in Nottingham? I'd heard the rumours that he was appearing in a small role in the new Batman film, but didn't really believe it until today when I saw him in a pub near Woolaton Hall.” and “I spotted him in a weird looking car driving through Gotham.”

Actually, rehersals for Batman Live (the World Arena Tour that starts touring the UK this month) has been taking place 2 miles from an English village called Gotham (but prounced "Goath-am").

Was Adam visiting the rehersals for Batman Live? It would certainly explain the confusion and rumour fuelling!

Could Adam West be replacing Christian Bale? Not likely, but they could be sharing the screen!

Floss Magazine are reporting via their Twitter page that veteran Batman actor Adam West, Batman from the 1960's Fox produced TV series, will have a cameo role in the upcoming "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012).

The tweet said: Hollywood big wigs confirmed actor Adam West (Batman on the TV series) will make a cameo on "The Dark Knight Rises" set to open July 20, 2012

This is as of yet unconfirmed by West or any other media outlets, but if true will be further recognition of Adam's contribution to the character - last month he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

We hope this turns out to be true...it's over 20 years overdue!
